The history of the Carlo Marenco Theatre

In the heart of Ceva, the Carlo Marenco Theatre is much more than a stage space: it is a cultural garrison, a treasure chest of history, a bridge between generations.

Born in 1860 from the will of the Società Filodrammatica cebana and the participation of the community, is today a landmark for live art, people-to-people encounters and cultural growth in the area.

Inauguration

The Carlo Marenco Theatre is inaugurated on a project by engineer Giovanni Levi, at the behest of the Ceban Philodramatic Society.

1930s

New functions

The theatre is also transformed into a cinema, expanding its cultural and social role.

1978

Accommodation work

During the interventions, a medieval column emerges, evidence of the historical stratification of the site.

2007

Restoration

The Marenco Theatre reopens fully restored, recovering its original architectural and artistic value.

Today

Present and future

An active cultural presidium, open to the community and the new generations.
